What you get with Premium

Enquiries with a job card

Each enquiry arrives by email with the job, the boiler and the property, so you can quote or ring back straight away. They're kept in your dashboard too.

Your website, clickable

On a free listing your website shows as plain text. With Premium it becomes a link customers can tap.

Your prices and 24 photos

Show your call-out and job prices, and photos of your work, before the customer even rings.

Your availability

“Taking on new work” or “Next free: Thu” on your listing, plus a note above your enquiry form.

Towards the top of your town

Premium listings appear towards the top of your town’s lists, town pages and service pages. When several businesses in a town have Premium, they take turns at the top.

What the badge means

A listing showing the Owner verified (paid check) mark had its details confirmed with the business, on the phone number or email address it already publishes, within the last year. It confirms who runs the listing and what the listing says, never the standard of the work, and it is not Gas Safe registration and never stands in for it: that is checked on the Gas Safe Register, and this site tells customers to check it there. A mark lasts a year from the day the details were confirmed, and comes off sooner if Premium ends. It carries the word paid wherever it appears, and is not a review, a rating or a recommendation. A Gas Safe number on a listing is shown in its own row, and customers check it on the Gas Safe Register.

The small print

Who you pay
plumbers.trade, 7 Princes St, Edinburgh. Stripe takes the payment; card details go to Stripe and never reach this site.
Prices
Premium is £12 a month plus VAT. You can cancel renewal at any time and your subscription will not renew any further. VAT is charged on every payment at the standard rate of 20%, so Premium is £14.40 a month including VAT. It is the only paid plan.
Renewal
Premium renews automatically every month until you cancel.
Cancelling
Any time, from Manage billing in your dashboard. It takes effect at the end of the period you have paid for, and the plan is not renewed after it. There are no refunds for part of a period except where the law requires one.
Buying as a business
Premium is sold to plumbing and heating businesses for use in the business, and you confirm that, and that you accept the terms, with a tick box before you pay.
One listing per plan
Premium covers one listing. If you run two listings, for example in two towns under two names, each needs its own Premium for the paid tools to show on it.
When a plan ends
The badge comes off at the end of the paid period. Your website shows as plain text again, and your price list, photos, reply note and availability stop showing at once, are kept for 90 days in case you come back, and are then deleted. No new enquiries can be sent; those received stay in your dashboard for 12 months. Your listing stays listed, no longer towards the top of your town's lists.

Questions

Where does a Premium listing appear?

Premium listings appear towards the top of your town's lists, town pages and service pages. When several businesses in a town have Premium, they take turns at the top, so no particular place is promised. Below the Premium listings, the order is how recently a listing was checked, then how complete it is. Premium never changes the date a listing was checked. Each Premium listing shows the words "Premium listing".

How do I start?

Fill in the Get Premium form: your listing, your name, business email and phone number. It takes you straight on to payment, with your half-price first month already applied: there is no code to type. Your claim is checked as any claim is: if your email address is on your own website's domain, and that website names your business and shows the phone number on your listing, it goes through at once; otherwise it's checked against the details your business already publishes. Premium starts on your listing when the claim is approved. If the claim is not approved, the subscription is cancelled and your payment is refunded. If you would rather not pay yet, you can claim free and choose Premium later from your dashboard, where the half-price first month is applied for you in the same way.

Do I need Premium to get enquiries?

Yes. The form for asking you for a quote shows on your profile only while you have Premium. Each enquiry is emailed to you, so you reply to the customer directly, and kept in your dashboard. Each one carries the customer's job card: the job and how soon, the kind of property and when it was built, what the boiler runs on, the hot water system, how many radiators and bathrooms, whether they own or rent, and the first half of their postcode. Where the card shows gas work, an unvented cylinder, a let property or a burst pipe, the enquiry says what the customer was told to check, and a customer with an emergency is told to ring you rather than wait for an email. There is no lead fee and no commission on top of Premium: you keep the whole job. Without Premium, customers ring the phone number on your listing instead. We do not promise any number of enquiries.

Does Premium say I am Gas Safe registered?

No, and it never will. Gas Safe registration is held by each engineer for each kind of appliance, and the Gas Safe Register is the only place that shows it, so that is where customers are sent to check. To have your registration number on your listing, send the number through the listing form: it is checked on the register before it is shown, and that costs nothing, with or without Premium.

How does the price list work?

You enter your own prices: a call-out charge and an out-of-hours call-out, an hourly rate and a minimum charge, and the jobs customers ask for most: leaks and burst pipes, blockages, taps and toilets, a radiator, a boiler service, boiler repairs, a new boiler, a gas safety check and record, a hot water cylinder, a shower, a bathroom and an outside tap, plus up to 20 extras. Repairs and installations show as a starting price, and a service, a gas safety record, a radiator and an outside tap as a fixed one. You say whether your prices include VAT. A customer who has filled in a job card sees "your job here: about £X" on your profile, worked out from your own prices and labelled as yours, with a reminder to ask you for a written quote. For a job you have not priced they see your hourly rate and call-out charge, or for an emergency your out-of-hours call-out, and nothing is ever added together for you.

What does availability say?

Whatever you set: "Taking on new work", "Next free:" and a date, or "Fully booked for now". Change it when it stops being true. It never says when you will start, and nothing else on the site does either.

Which photos can I add?

Up to 24 photos of work you did yourself, your van or your team at work, with captions: a bathroom you fitted, a boiler you swapped, a neat run of pipework. Pair a before with its after and they show side by side. No stock images, no other firms' work, and no photo of a customer's home they have not agreed to.

Can I cancel?

Yes, at any time, from Manage billing in your dashboard. The plan runs to the end of the period you have paid for and is not renewed. Your listing carries on as a free claimed listing, no longer towards the top of your town's lists.
