About McGaffin Mechanical
McGaffin Mechanical Ltd is a heating and plumbing business in Craigavon established by Matthew McGaffin. The company employs over 25 staff and subcontractors and carries out installation, servicing and maintenance of gas and oil boilers, cavity wall and loft insulation, solar PV systems, and oil tank replacements. It also provides home energy consultations and contract plumbing and heating work for domestic retrofit projects across Northern Ireland.
Jobs start with a home energy consultation to discuss the customer's needs. The business installs efficient boiler systems and heating controls, supplies and fits solar PV panels, and applies cavity wall and loft insulation to improve home comfort and reduce energy bills. Boiler servicing includes a thorough inspection, cleaning and safety check. McGaffin Mechanical works with recognised heating manufacturers to source energy-efficient appliances.
The business covers all of Northern Ireland. It holds public liability insurance with a limit of indemnity of £2 million and is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. Finance options include 0% interest-free credit for customers on the Phoenix and Firmus networks, and grant options are available. The team includes plumbers, electricians, surveyors, installers, engineers and apprentices. Matthew McGaffin runs the business, which focuses on renewable energy and helping homes become more energy-efficient and sustainable.
