For the trade
Verified listings
Every listing here was published from public sources and carries the date it was last checked. What it does not carry is a word from the person who runs the business. The dotted badge says that, and nothing else.
What the dotted badge means
Nobody has claimed the listing. We wrote it from what the business puts in public and we have not heard from the owner. It is not a finding about the work, the pricing or the business itself, and a reader should not take it as one.
Claiming a listing
Claiming is free. You show that you run the business, either with an email address at its own website’s domain or by a check against the phone number and email it already publishes, and the dotted badge comes off. Then you can correct the listing yourself and see how often it is viewed. Corrections stay free whether you claim or not, and anyone can tell us about an error through the listing form.
What the filled badge means
It reads Owner verified (paid check), and it means the business confirmed, on the phone number or email address it already publishes, that it runs the listing and that the listing was current. It lasts a year from that confirmation, comes off sooner if the business stops paying for Premium, and says the word paid wherever it appears.
What it does not do
- It is a mark, not a place in the list. Where a listing appears does not depend on it.
- It is not a recommendation. We do not rank or score businesses and we do not copy ratings from anywhere else. Verified means the owner confirmed the facts, not that we vouch for the work.
- It is not Gas Safe registration. Only an engineer on the Gas Safe Register may work on gas, and the register is the place to check it, engineer by engineer and appliance by appliance. How to check a plumber on the register.
- It does not change what is listed. Being unverified costs a business nothing here: same page, same details.
